Obituary of Clinton Robert Lueck

Clint Lueck, age 78 of Maple Plain, Minnesota, went to his eternal home on October 16, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with kidney cancer. Survived by his wife Judy, daughter Christine (Dave) Masters, son Greg (Sheri) Lueck, sister Janet Sandlass; brothers-in-law Dean (Karen) Burzinski, and John (Dawn Manske) Burzinski, grandsons Steve (Paige) Young, and Austin Jones, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Clint will be remembered for his positive spirit, gentle disposition, easy and calm manner, with a smile that could light up a room and warm a heart.  Whether sarcastic or jovial, Clint’s wit would bring on a cascade of laughter.  And always, his Christian faith remained a guiding force in his life.

Born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on January 6, 1945 to parents Everett and Eunice (Prohaska) Lueck, Clint grew up in Sparta, Wisconsin where he attended school and worked in his father's bakery. He soon turned his attention to a new and developing career field called computer technology. Thru his own natural abilities and on-the-job training, he achieved ultimate success as Assistant Vice President and Director of Information Technology for the Hartford Life Insurance National Service Center headquartered in Minneapolis. Being a Wisconsin boy, he was a Green Bay Packer fan through and through, remaining loyal all his Minnesota years. He enjoyed the sparring that came along with living in Viking country. After retirement, Clint took up woodworking and sought training in the field of cabinet making. He set up his own woodworking shop and worked out of his home building custom designs for his friends. Being the son of a baker, Clint also enjoyed cooking, grilling, baking – always the perfectionist he never gave up experimenting for that perfect pizza crust.

Clint embraced a deep love and respect for nature sharing all he knew with his children as they grew. He took them canoeing, hiking, camping and fishing almost every weekend. That love of nature propelled Clint and Judy to travel the four corners of the US extensively by motorcycle, car, canoe, boat, plane and ship, sprinkled with a few international cruises. For the last 15 years of their life together, Clint and Judy enjoyed snow-bird status spending winters in sunny Arizona, always looking to perfect his golf swing, and developing deep friendships with an entire coalition of Minnesota snow birds.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Christ Lutheran Church, 5084 E. Main Street, Maple Plain, MN www.mpclc.org.  Visitation begins at 9:30 am. Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am, which will be live-streamed.
