Obituary of Dennis D Parker
Dennis D. Parker was born at home on May 18, 1941 in Marble Rock, Iowa to Edgar and Berniece Parker. He went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2023.
He graduated Rockford High School in 1959 and briefly attended University of Iowa until he was drafted into the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. He was a Vietnam Vet and honorably discharged as a Sp 4.
After his service he attended and graduated from Mankato State University.
He worked at A.C. Nielsen Marketing Research in Mason City, Iowa from 1969 until he was transferred to Fond du Lac WI in 1991, he retired in 1996. After retiring he moved to Danbury WI in 1999 where he resided at the time of his death.
He met his wife Ronda at A.C. Nielsens, they were married on June 3, 1972.
Parker’s favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting ducks, geese, raccoons and squirrels and he always cooked and ate whatever he caught. He also enjoyed golfing, cards, bridge, and bowling.
He spent 50 plus years going on annual fall fishing trip to Brule Wisconsin with Larry Miller, Bob Joanis, Dick and Brian O’Leary.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Edgar & Berniece Parker, brother Michael, in-laws Charles and Lorena Barnish, brother in laws Bob Barry and Don Bowman.
He leaves behind his wife of 51 years Ronda and his lap cat Hemi, His sister Diana Barry, sister-in-law Vernetta Bowman, brother-in-laws Chuck & Linda Barnish, Steve and Marcia Barnish, John and Trisha Barnish, along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring or summer 2024 in Mason City, Iowa.
