Obituary of David Harman
David “Dave” Harman passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 12, 2023. Survived by his wife A-Mei Chen Harman, daughter Karissa Matthews (Blake) of Watertown, Minnesota, and mother Donna Thaemert (Harlan) of Carver, Minnesota, and father Vern Harman (Joan Berge) of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and sisters Julie Nardone (Tom) and Paula Thaemert, and niece Alyssa Brotzel. Also survived by his precious grandchildren Ava and Samuel Matthews, and step granddaughter Jaelyn Matthews. Dave also leaves behind many (many!) uncles, aunts, cousins (cuz!), and friends.
Dave was born on June 1, 1966, in Saint Paul, Minnesota before moving to Carver and graduating from Chaska High School. He was a proud (retired) member of the Local 563 Laborers Union. Dave was dynamic and fun-loving, always up for playing baseball, softball, bowling, volleyball, bags, horseshoes, golf, disc golf, bocce ball, and Yahtzee! Anything that involves competition. He loved his hotrods, his camping trips and snowmobiling in the winter. He never forgot a birthday or anniversary reaching out with loving wishes or a thoughtful card. At family gatherings he brought the party with him along with his unmistakable booming voice (which his granddaughter Ava especially loved).
A celebration of life will be Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm in Dave’s hometown of Carver at the Carver City Hall, 316 Broadway Street, Carver, MN 55315. Please bring your fondest memories of Dave to share with family and friends. Dave was an avid fan of all things sports and he asked everyone to be casual. Wear your favorite sports team jerseys, shirts, or hats, or your Halloween costume and yes, he welcomed all team spirit.
Memorials are preferred to the family.
Love from the Harman’s, Thaemert’s, Matthew’s & Nardone’s
