Obituary of Carrie Jean Jolliff
Carrie Jean Jolliff was born August 17, 1945, to Geneva Maxine Jolliff and Robert Jolliff in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She attended elementary and junior high school in North Minneapolis and graduated from North High School in 1963. She briefly attended Concordia College and then went on to graduate from the Minnesota School of Business, where she excelled in secretarial coursework.
She would later use these skills and build a successful career at Faegre and Benson, where she began as a Legal Assistant and retired as a Benefits Supervisor after 27 years.
Carrie was a gentle and loving person. She had a heart for service, and she was always there when you needed her. With her great sense of humor and quick wit - she was described by many as a “spitfire.” Her snappy comebacks were comedic gold.
Carrie loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed having "sisters lunch” with her sisters, and didn’t mind coordinating the details to make sure it happened.
Carrie passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 8th.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Geneva Kirby, Raymond Kirby, and Robert Jolliff; sister, Candice Kamara(Jolliff); brothers Robert Jolliff, Gary Jolliff, and Ronald Jolliff; nephews Gregory Cumber (Jolliff) and Teru McSwain; and nieces Marquita Jolliff and Raejon Bryant.
She is survived by her life partner, Willie Lawler; daughters Tia Jolliff, Ursula Allen, and Salisa Fields; son Scott Fields (Antonise); grandchildren Ashanti and Talia Jolliff, Anthony and Juqwetta Kirby-Fields, Tanisha Scott, Domonic, Malcolm, and Toni Fields, Scott, Shalil and Niyanna Fields; sisters Jessica Scott and Peggy Jacobson (Duane); brother Victor Patterson, and sister-law-law Chris Swaggert, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Carrie was a bright light and a joy to everyone she met, she will be deeply missed.
