Obituary of Kevin M. Harty
Kevin died at home on Friday, June 24, 2016 after a brave fight with cancer.
He was born on Nov. 12, 1964 to Gerald and Rosemarie Harty in Albert Lea, Minn. He married his wife Sandy on July 9, 1994 at Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Rosemarie Harty and parents-in-law Duane and Gerry Keeler.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Sandra (Keeler) Harty; his daughters Melissa and Cassie; a sister Kathy (Randy) Kight; his furry friend Fluffy and many nieces and nephews.
Kevin graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1983. He graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a Fine Arts degree in Theatre, as well as Austin Vocational Technical Institute in Austin, Minn., and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Superior. Kevin most recently worked at Black Bear Casino where he worked for the past 12 years. He also worked at Cathedral School in Superior as substitute teacher and as well as a latchkey teacher. Additionally, Kevin previously worked at 97.5 and KUMD radio and volunteered at the Richard I. Bong Historical Center. Kevin was a talented videographer and he filmed many weddings over the years.
A celebration in honor of Kevin's life: 4 to 7 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. service and refreshments and food from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 7 at the Belgian Club, 3931 East 2nd Street, Superior.
