Obituary of Louis John Lutz
Louis John Lutz, 73, changed his residence for good to the one place better than his beloved Shoreview home on September 9, 2023. Heaven finally gave Louie relief from the suffering he endured, especially during the last two years. As his Alzheimer’s progressed, Louie greatly missed being able to fix things or have a ready joke to share with anyone and everyone.
A great lover of nature, family and friends, this kind, talented and witty man was born in Stillwater, Minnesota, on December 18, 1949, the fourth child of six to Arthur and Ilene Lutz. He grew up in White Bear Lake and after graduating from Hill High School, Louie took his time to figure out his life’s work as an electrician, a profession he loved until the day he retired. He met his wife, Trish (Patricia) Grafstrom, at a party where mutual friends thought they were perfect for each other and set them up on a date. They were right. Louie felt blessed in life and referred to himself as Lucky Louie until his diagnosis in 2017. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Trish, two wonderful children, Parnell (Nikki) and Annika Pollack (Nick) and four beautiful grandchildren Breckin (5) and Mason (3) Lutz, and Anya (4) and Griffin (1-1/2) Pollack; a sister, Vivian Krech, and two brothers, Jerry (Sandy) and Tom (Terry); plus numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
We will miss Louie’s wonderful smile, his girlish giggle, and that endearing twinkle in his eyes. A celebration of life will be held on November 30, 2023, at 11:00 am followed by a lunch at White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church, 328 Maple St, Mahtomedi, MN 55115.
