Obituary of Arlene Adeline Rohkohl
Rohkohl, Arlene Adeline (Zaske) passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on September 12, 2023, at the age of 90. Arlene was born August 28, 1933, and grew up on a farm in Renville, MN. She graduated from the University of Minnesota, and subsequently worked as a Medical Technologist. She met her husband, Fritz, and they were married on June 2, 1957. They built a home in Burnsville, MN where they lived for 57 years and raised three children. Arlene returned to the workforce and worked part-time for Eye Physicians & Surgeons. When she and Fritz retired, they traveled, spending summers at their cabin on Kimble Lake, and winters in Sun City Grand, Arizona.
Arlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed. She will be remembered as being an excellent cook, and a very sociable, “sweet lady” with the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she met.
Preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; parents, Otto & Adeline Zaske; and sister-in-law, Mildred Zaske.
She is survived by her daughter, Jody (Ernie) Companion, and sons, Jay (Lynne) Rohkohl, and Jeff (Brenda) Rohkohl; grandchildren Tony & Courtney Companion, and Emily, Jack & Andrew Rohkohl; brother, Wayne Zaske; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Rick & Pat Rohkohl; six nephews, and many other extended family members and friends.
Special thanks to her loving caregivers Nancy, Makiyami and Assieto for going above and beyond in the care they gave her.
Services will be held on September 26, 2023, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave. So., Edina, MN. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00pm. A Celebration of her Life will follow the service, at Pinstripes Restaurant in Edina.
