Obituary of Duane Kiser
Duane DeLoy Kiser, Farmington, MN., formerly of Jamestown, ND. passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN.
DeLoy was born October 14, 1939, in Valley City, ND to Lawrence and Myrtle (McClean)Kiser. He married his high school sweetheart, Charleen Koenig on June 24, 1959.
Following graduation from high school in Marion, N.D. DeLoy was employed by Foremost Dairies in Jamestown. He began his career in computer technology in Minneapolis with Blue Cross–Blue Shield, Electronic Data Systems, Dayton’s, Target and IBM.
DeLoy and Charleen shared a love of traveling in the United States, Europe and Mexico. After retirement they toured Alaska, Turkey, Poland, Eastern European countries and explored the country roads of Minnesota and surrounding states on their Honda Goldwing.
They became “Winter Texan’s” living in Mission, Texas, with new friends from all over the United States and Canada.
DeLoy’s smile and kindness will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his quiet nature, willingness to help those in need, respect for others, his work ethic, his love for his family and his personal faith in God.
He is survived by his wife Charleen; children Kathy (Charlie) Newcomb, Don (Sue), Doug, Mike (Barb); 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Willy (Sue) Kiser; sister Alvira Edwards; sisters in law Patty Pagac, Carole Weinrich and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant son David, parents Myrtle and Lawrence Kiser; brother Dale Kiser; mother and father in law Ralph and Kate Koenig, brothers in law Darrel Koenig and Glen Edwards, & sisters in law Phyllis (Les) Krueger and Sharon (Wayne) Shoemaker.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on September 23 at Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
DeLoy’s family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Methodist Hospital for their kindness and support preceding his passing.
