Bette Reitter

Age 92, died peacefully at her home in Oakdale on August 8, 2023. Bette was born and raised on the family farm in Otoe, NE to Edward and Sophie Schutz on November 21, 1930. Bette was preceded in death by her parents, John, her husband of 55 years, her precious daughter Julie Hebert (Mark), her sister and two brothers, two nieces and a nephew. She is survived by daughters Anne Wolf (Wayne), Becky Turner (Rich), Trudy Swanson (Dan), seven grandkids, two nieces, and friends. Bette was a long-time employee of the City of St. Paul. Bette and John made and maintained two homes between St. Paul and their family lake home in Ottertail County and made many happy memories for everyone in the family. Bette loved gardening at both her homes. Memorial service will be held at 11:00AM at Cremation Society – St. Paul, 1979 Old Hudson Rd, with visitation starting at 10:30. A light lunch will follow. Bette’s ashes will be interred with John’s at Union Cemetery, Maplewood at 1:30 and all are welcome. Memorials are preferred to Otoe Cemetery, or The Red Cross.
