Obituary of Heather Jean Garland

Heather Jean Garland, 42, of South Range, was graciously taken into the Lord's arms on Saturday, July 2, 2016. Heather was born Dec. 28, 1973, in Superior, to Richard and Roseanna Garland. After graduating with her RN degree from WITC-Superior, Heather worked 17 years in St. Luke's Emergency Room and North Memorial Emergency Room. Throughout the years, she enjoyed volunteering her time at various events such as working the medical tent at The Duluth Air Show, Grandma's Marathon, and the Arrowhead EMS Conference. She was an amazing nurse that cared for every patient with grace, love, and dedication to help everyone. What brought her the most joy in life was watching her daughter, Kelsea, grow up. In her spare time she loved to go camping, sit around a campfire with friends, manage her softball team (Medical Mayhem), and participate the Dragon Boat Races with her daughter. Heather's smile, humor, style, and friendship will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard "Dick" Garland; and both maternal and paternal grandparents. Heather is survived by her daughter, Kelsea AnnMarie Moore; mother, Roseanna Garland; brother, Tony (Tricia) Garland; niece, Sara Garland; nephew, Kevin Garland; and countless family and friends. VISITATION: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. ceremony. Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Brighton Beach, Brighton Beach Rd., Duluth.
