Obituary of Thomas Dannion

Thomas Dannion (Schmiedeberg)

Age 59, of St. Paul, MN died by suicide on Monday August 14, 2023 after a long hard-fought battle with addiction and mental illness.

Preceded in death by parents Harlan and Patricia Schmiedeberg, sister Mary Hvidhyld.

Siblings: Kay (Steve) Andert, Neil Hvidhyld, Sue (Tom) DePauw, Judy (Joe) Gallagher, Joe (Jill Goldade) Schmiedeberg.

Tom was a 1982 graduate of Cretin high school, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Stout, also served in the Army and was deployed to active duty during Desert Storm.

Even though there was estrangement for many years, in the end Tom’s family knows love never ends and Tom is finally at peace.

A private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will be held.
