Obituary of Mary Jo Edison

Mary Jo Edison, age 68, of Blaine, MN, passed away on August 15, 2023. She grew up in New Hope, MN, and attended Cooper High School.

Mary got her start in the medical field as a lab technician after attending NHCC and the U of M. Mary continued her training to become a Clinical Perfusionist and her career at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis spanned 37 years. She was recognized for her hard work and dedication, receiving the Civil Servant of the Year Award in 1996.

Mary had a very adventurous spirit and pursued skydiving, sailing, and scuba diving. She will be remembered most for her generosity to others and her caring nature.

Mary will be deeply missed by her partner Charles Spleiss; daughter Joy (Greg) Fruetel; her beloved grandchildren Taylor and Logan; siblings Adrienne Edison, Kristine (Steve) Dieter, Liz (Dave) Schleicher, John (Lisa) Edison, Paul Edison; sister-in-law Deb Edison; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents Roy and Marcella Edison; and brothers Greg and Jim.

A family Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
