Obituary of Jane Whartman
Jane passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023, from kidney failure at age 86. She was an extremely gentle lady with an infectious sense of humor. She enjoyed quaint items such as tea pots, antique dishes, and vintage light fixtures. She loved to play Scrabble and cards and was a hard-nosed competitor in all games. She was also an avid reader, golfer, Civil War buff, poet, and writer of entertaining accounts of family history and events. Above all, she valued spending time with her family.
She is survived by Robert, her loving husband of 65 years; sister Joan Bachman; daughters Tracy Whartman and Lynn (Brad) Gulsvig; grandchildren Brieanna (Eric) Adan, Ben (Theresa) Gulsvig, and Beau (Chelsey) Gulsvig; seven great grandchildren; and niece, Lori Bachman.
A memorial service celebrating Jane’s life will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Parkview United Church of Christ, 3737 Bellaire Ave., White Bear Lake, MN. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. and luncheon after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society or Parkview United Church of Christ.
