Obituary of Richard Raymond Shetler

In Loving Memory of Richard “Dick” Shetler.

Age 81, from Minneapolis, MN. Passed away at home on Friday, August 11th, 2023. He was born on August 13th, 1941, to Raymond and Eleanore Shetler, at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital.

A lifelong fan of Brazilian Bossa Nova, automobiles, especially Lotus Cars, and disciple of The Meditation Center.

He married the love of his life, Maria Lopez on January 26th, 2007 in Mexico City.

He was preceded in death by parents Raymond and Eleanore Shetler and brother Jerome Shetler, survived by loving wife Maria Lopez-Shetler, Minneapolis, MN, brother James Shetler, Minneapolis MN, and sisters Judith Hegstrom, Superior, WI, and Janet Shetler, Minneapolis, MN.

Family and friends are invited to join in commemorating Richard’s life during the service on Sunday, September 24th at Minnehaha United Methodist Church at 3701 E 50th St, Minneapolis, MN 55417. Service will begin at 3:00 pm followed by a reception as we gather to celebrate Richard’s life.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly request donations be made in Richard’s memory to the Animal Humane Society.
