Obituary of Jeanne Millikan
Jeanne (Huber) Millikan, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016, in Duluth.
She was born on Feb. 3, 1937 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was the seventh of eight children. She played the clarinet in the high school band and worked in the soda shop. It was there that she met her husband of nearly 54 years, Loren Millikan. In 1963, the couple moved to Flint, Mich., with their first son, Randy and was blessed with another son, Scott.
In the early '80s, Jeanne and her family moved to eastern Pennsylvania to be closer to Loren's aging parents. They lived there happily for close to 30 years, until Loren's death in 2009.
In 2014, Jeanne retired from Bucks County Intermediate School District, where she had worked for 20 years as a receptionist. She spent the last two years of her life--cold--living with Randy and his wife Lynn in their home on Lake Superior in Duluth.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, singing, and volunteering at church. She tirelessly cared for her family, her friends, and anyone in her life who was in need.
She is grieved by four siblings, Barbara Horstmeyer, Diana Halter, Joseph Huber, all of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Franklin Huber, of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sons, Randall Millikan of Duluth, and Scott Millikan of Coopersburg, Penn.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday in Indiana. In fond remembrance of Jeanne's generous spirit, and in lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanne's name may be made to the Mayo Clinic Foundation, Heifer International, or Wheaton College in Illinois.
