Obituary of Warren Gerald Doesken
Warren G. Doesken, 97, Chisholm, MN died peacefully Tuesday 7/25/2023 in Anoka. He was born 12/18/1925 in Willmar, Mn. Warren graduated from Raymond High School in 1943. Warren joined the US Navy shortly after and is a WWII Veteran. He served on the aircraft carrier Santee from 1943-46. He was a gunner and radioman during the war. Warren graduated from Gustavus Adolphus with his BA and went on to receive his MA in Biology at the University of South Dakota. Warren went on to teach in Bayfield, CO, Gaylord, MN and retired from teaching in Chisholm, MN in 1984. He was a member of the Society of Sigma Xi of South Dakota, the MN Academy of Science, the Chisholm American Legion Post #247, the Chisholm Lake Street Senior Citizens and the Chisholm Moose Lodge 226 where he was Past Governor and attained the Fellowship Degree. Warren's hobbies included, bowling, curling, camping and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Warren was preceded in death by his wife Ann; brother, Marvin (Gail); sister Lavon (Elroy) Taatjes; son-in-law Brian Stevens and great-grandson Joseph Doesken. Warren is survived by his children Deb (Dave) Verlo, Randy (Anne) Doesken, Brad (Kim) Doesken, Brian (Lita) Doesken, Pam (Loran) Mogensen, Lori Stevens and dozens of grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. Warren will be laid to rest with military honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetary on August 23rd, 9:30 a.m.
