Obituary of Brian Coty Zumberge
Brian Coty Zumberge passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 14, 2023 from a recent combination of health problems that were too much to overcome. He was born on October 12, 1951 in Minneapolis to Bert and Gretta Zumberge.
From an early age, Brian loved the outdoors, and passed this love on to his family. He learned how to hunt and fish from the best, his Dad. Growing up, he was a core member of the family camping team to the North Shore, and all those experiences gave him a life-long inventory of stories to tell, with some enhancements along the way. He treasured time with family and friends. Brian was an avid fan of all Minnesota sports teams, and he loved going to his favorite restaurant, El Loro.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Gretta Zumberge and in-laws, Betty Benson and Daniel Benson.
Brian is survived by his wife, Vicky, two children, Troy and Kristin, and the family dog, Charlie.
He is also survived by Judy Nelson (Gary), Gary Zumberge (Sue), Rena Knutson (Craig), and Michael Benson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1701 W. Old Shakopee Road in Bloomington, MN. 10 AM Visitation and 11 AM Service.
After Glow
I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who
grieve, to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave
When my life is done.
