To the family of Alyce Hagberg
My mother, Gertrude Austin Bielenberg, was a cousin of Alyce Joyce. (I never knew her as just Alyce). I remember, as a child, making our annual trip to Superior to spend time with Les, "Lil" and other family members. It was a fun time as Lester always made us laugh, with Alyce Joyce seeing that myself and siblings had things to do while the adults visited.. In the summer of 1994 I drove my mother from Stillwater to Superior so she could visit with "Lil" and Alyce Joyce. I remember Alyce Joyce for her kindness, when I was youngster, and later as an adult, when I occasionally saw her or talked with her on the phone, as I was trying to get family information for my genealogy research. I was especially surprised and pleased when she came to my mother's memorial service in Spring 2008. Her thoughtfulness and kindness extended not only to family but to her patients and co-workers over her many years of being a nurse. She had a long and fruitful life. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and may your many memories of her bring you joy.
