BONNIE
A smile as bright as the sun
A glass of wine, or a beer to be had
A hiker through and through
Although in pain, marching on she did
That’s Bonnie.
Always outgoing
Someone from Green Bay she’d spy
A conversation she’d start
Forever a Packer’s fan
GO GREEN BAY!
That’s Bonnie.
A hike in Death Valley
She “by the hand she took me”
Meet all my friends, said she
Then, one of the group I did become
That’s Bonnie.
At the ready
To hike, to travel whatever adventure
Greeting people wherever she went
Spreading good cheer
That’s Bonnie.
Fond memories
Photo collections
Each day a thought of Bonnie.

Twenty-some hikers from all over the US will be gathering via Zoom to remember Bonnie, who was the heart and soul of our group. We all have Bonnie stories--being in an airport line when she spotted a Green Bay Packers cap, on the trail sharing her delight in wildflowers and great photos that no one else could have envisioned, and rooming with her in hotels all over the world. I had the pleasure of doing the latter and saw firsthand just how much discomfort she was often in, but she never let any of it stop her from having a good time and making sure everyone else did, too.
I'm attaching a few more photos to add to Betty and Jerry's excellent collection. The language on the sign is Icelandic!

We have so many fond memories of Bonnie hiking with our Appalachian Trail group over the years, as well as when she visited us at our home in Maryland. These photos are indicative of what an enormous presence she was wherever she went. Her indomitable spirit inspired us all, both on and off the trail. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by one and all.
