Obituary of Timothy Robert Loth
Timothy Robert Loth, age 82, passed away on June 6, 2023. Tim was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 4, 1941, to Lucille and Russell Loth. He attended Marshall High School.
Tim and his first wife, Judy (deceased) had three children Mike, Tony, and Kristy (Terry). Tim enlisted in the Army right after high school, spent two years in Germany and four more in the Reserves. This was a time he really enjoyed and learned so much. As a young man, Tim worked with his father in the sheet metal trade. After the army he attended Dunwoody and became a sheet metalworker for companies like Egan and Hayes Contractors in the field and as a project manager. He then started his own company, O’Brien Sheetmetal which eventually merged with Northland Mechanical from which Tim retired.
Tim had an additional career in aviation. He was chief pilot and flight instructor at Crystal Shamrock. In addition to teaching, he flew many charters including DC3 fishing trips into Canada. In retirement Tim rebuilt a Piper PA12 at his hangar at Anoka County Airport.
Tim also had a love of motorcycles and boats and owned several of each.
He had the most amazing stories about growing up, the army, flying adventures, motorcycle adventures to Sturgis, and bringing the big boat upriver from Nashville to St Paul.
Tim is survived by his wife, Deb, his three children: Mike, Tony, and Kristy (Terry); seven grandchildren: TJ, Christina, Camden, Morgan, Aaron, Kenny, and Josie; and great grandchildren: Acacia, Teddy, Ari, and Rory. He had many friends and cousins, far too many to mention.
Tim is preceded in death by his wife, Judy; parents, Russell and Lucille; as well as his brother, Mike.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 12, 2023, at his hangar at Anoka County Airport from Noon-5pm.
