Obituary of Helen M. Lorenz

Helen M. Lorenz was born on September 24, 1938, to Henry & Anna (Daas) Revering near Urbank, MN. 

Helen passed away on May 5, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth at the age of 84. 

Helen was married to Thomas E. Lorenz, Sr. for 59 years and was the proud mother of four children, Linda (Terry Smith), Thomas Jr. (Chris), John (Jodi) and Mark (Angela) and 9 grandchildren: Josef, Kelly (AJ) Harris, Vincent, Thomas, Cassie, Katie, Kallie, Karlie, and Kamrie.

Helen met Tom in Minneapolis. They moved to Urbank, and later Nashwauk, and finally Duluth. She was a great cook who enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She worked for many years at a residential home in Grand Rapids, MN, caring for four vulnerable adults with special needs, and retired in September 2000.

She is preceded in death by her parents; by siblings, Daniel, Roberta, Clara, Frank, Josephine, Louise, Martin, Aaron, and Alice; by brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray Zavadil, John Hoppe and Dorothy Revering; and by nieces and by nephew, Diane Revering, Ryan Hoppe and Vicki Revering.    

Helen is survived by siblings Sister Mary Revering of Baltimore, MD, Hank (Elsie) Revering of Garfield, Clem Revering of Alexandria; by sisters-in-law, Sharon Revering of Alexandria and Donna Revering of Mound; and by 25 nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by all her friends and family.

A funeral service will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 102 4th Street in Cloquet on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m.
