Obituary of Patricia Mae Kyhn
Patricia “Patty/Trish” Kyhn age 69, from Brooklyn Center, MN. Passed away April 2nd, 2023 at her home with family.
Patricia (Patty/Trish) (Humphrey) Kyhn Was born to Guy and Aurelia (Toots)Humphrey October 25th 1953 in Bovey MN. From there they moved around quite a bit, Bovey Illinois, Minneapolis, Oklahoma, Hibbing and Hill City. Patty attended many schools including Hibbing Community College. Patty had many jobs in Hibbing, Grand Rapids and Hill City in her younger years. She then moved to Minneapolis in 19?? when she married Mike Kyhn. They had a daughter in 1988 Nicole Kyhn. Patty started at Hiawatha Rubber in 1987 and retired more then 25 years later. She also worked at the Palmer Lake VFW calling bingo and auditing pull tabs until she just was sure she could not do it anymore in 2023. Patty had been in a relationship with her special friend Rich Fore since July 4th 2013
Patty was diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2018. That then lead to Ovarian cancer and in the end Bone and Lung Cancer. She was a trooper through the Chemo never once got sick in 4+ years of chemo. When she heard they could do no more for her in December of 2022 she decided no more chemo.
Patty loved to go on the annual fishing trips and camping with friends, spending time with her granddaughter Kaylee Piper, spending time with her family & planning girls weekends. Even planned her own memorial girls weekend a couple years ago.
Patty is proceeded in death by all her Grandparents, Mom and Dad, Stepbrother Richard Groom & many aunts and uncles.
Patty is survived by her daughter Nicci (Larry) Doig Blaine MN, Brother Guy (Ginger) Humphrey, Sister Terri Sutton Hill City MN. Stepbrothers Vernon (Marilyn)Groom CA , Donald (Robin)Groom Hawaii, Special friend Rich Fore AKA (Carpet Rich) Brooklyn Center MN. Granddaughter Kaylee Piper Doig. Many nieces and nephews and a whole gaggle of friends.
In accordance with Patty’s wishes she will be buried on May 13th 2023 at Macville Cemetery in Swatara MN. A celebration of life will be held May 20th at the Palmer Lake VFW in Brooklyn Center 1200-6:00. We will be celebrating 69 years of Patty’s life. Bring yourself with lots of stories to share with the family. It’s going to be one hell-of-a-send off for a very special lady!
