Obituary of Betty Ann Devinney
Betty was born on August 24, 1930, in Hardwick, MN and she passed away on April 27th, 2023, in Belle Plaine, MN at the Lutheran Homes of Belle Plaine. A special thank you to the staff for their care and kindness. Betty was under St. Croix Hospice for a short time, and we want to extend our thanks to them as well.
Betty was a 40-year employee of Northwest Airlines. She was a sales and reservation agent and enjoyed the perks of traveling around the country. She especially loved Hawaii. Betty met her long time, best friend, Bonnie, through her time working at Northwest Airlines. They remained friends for over 60 years.
Betty was a wonderful cook and a talented sewer. She was famous for her potato salad. We have the recipe, but our version will never live up to hers. Betty enjoyed gardening and giving her yard a little pizzazz. Bonnie and Betty had many dogs throughout the years that they loved immensely. They were incredibly supportive, in a few ways, of the Animal Humane Society.
Preceded in death by her mother and father, Truby and Elsie (Johannsen) Devinney; her brother, James and his wife Patricia Devinney; her nephew, Mark; and friends, Pearl and Austin Dobratz, Darlene Anderson, Peter Dobratz, Mark Blomberg, Daniel and Jackson Anderson, and Christopher Weis.
