Obituary of Barbara Jean Weick

Barbara Jean (Adams) Weick passed away April 28, 2023, following a brief illness. She was born on February 6,1942, in Valley City, North Dakota, to George Adams and Helen (Breske) Adams. 

Barbara is survived by her husband, Dale Weick; sons, Roger and Jon; sister, Maxine (Chuck) Corrin; brothers, Robert (Muggs) and James Gowdy; grandsons, Bailey Olson and Hunter Olson; granddaughters, Tawny (Tanner) Morford and Savannah Olson; great-granddaughter Blakely Woosley; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. You were all special to Barbara. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Cassibo; and brothers, Kenneth and Dennis Adams.

Barbara's family moved to International Falls when she was young. She attended school in International Falls and Littlefork, Minnesota. She married John R. Olson. They had two sons, Roger Carl Olson and Jon Anthony Olson. In 1980, Barbara met the love of her life, Dale Weick. They married in 1983 and made Maple Grove, Minnesota, their home. Barbara and Dale made many trips to Florida, the Dakotas and Kewaunee, Wisconsin, to fish with family (brother-in-law Loren Weick) and friends. 

Barbara was wonderful at cooking, baking, and canning. She was a great hostess and spared nothing to create a fine dining experience for all lucky enough to sit at her table. She lived out her Christian faith in her family relationships, her kindness to others, and even through the music she loved. 

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, May 5, 2023, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 7401 County Road 101, Maple Grove, Minnesota, 55311. Phone: 763-420-5015. Visitation at 2pm, service at 3pm.
