Obituary of Gene Morstad

Gene Morstad, 84, passed away on November 8, 2022, surrounded by family. He attended South High School in Minneapolis, studied English at the U of MN, and became a film editor and photographer. He was an intellectual and philosopher at heart; a walking encyclopedia and great conversationalist with a seeking mind. His passions included literature, acting, sailing, hiking and mountain climbing. He was a wise old soul with a youthful spirit, and kept his disarmingly dry wit up to the end of his life. He is survived by his daughter Marya Morstad (Ken Brahmstedt), son Erik Crillion (Stephanie) and beloved grandkids Q, Sage, Esme, Roman, Max and Spencer; his brothers (Ossian, Gary) and sisters (Gloria, Betty) and large community of friends. 

There will be a Memorial on Saturday, April 22nd (Earth Day), 1-4pm, at the Theodore Wirth Pavillion.
