Obituary of Charlie Mae Hollins
Charlie Mae Hollins was born in Muskogee, OK to the late Charles and Litha Maye Coulter on November 10, 1930 and departed this life on March 25, 2023. She was preceded in death by her siblings John Coulter, Shirley Collins, Faye Page and daughters Michelle Hollins, Janice Hollins and son Michael Hollins.
After moving to Minnesota, she worked for the Department of Education for 30 years. She was very active during her lifetime in politics for the DFL Party and served on the boards of OIC and Tenants Rights.
Charlie Mae met and married Arthur Hollins who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Carol Felton (Tacoma, WA), children, Karen Horne (Minneapolis, MN), Marsha Scott (Tulsa, OK), Dwayne Hollins (St. Paul, MN), nephews Roosevelt (Cynthia) Collins (St. Paul, MN), Frank (Gulya) Staten (Houston, TX), Jeffrey Staten (Tacoma, WA), niece Janice Collins (St. Paul, MN), grand-children Nina Horne (Dairius Fairchild) (Sturgeon Lake, MN), Alexandria Horne (Eden Prairie, MN), Michael (Ivory) Barber (Atlanta, GA), Lee (Christie) Young (Bartlesville, OK), Ta’Nisha Woods (Minneapolis, MN), Verna Grayson (Tulsa, OK), Bryson Haskell (Minneapolis, MN), Bryant Haskell (Detroit, MI), Duane (Janice) Hollins (Minneapolis, MN), as well as a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews.
She will be missed by her family and many close friends.
A private family interment will be held at a later date.
