Obituary of Margaret Mary Camery
Margaret Mary Camery (nee Rainbolt, born Ivers), born in Minneapolis on October 10th, 1935, passed away early morning Wednesday, March 29th, 2023, surrounded by loving family.
Margaret lived a vibrant life filled with friendships and achievements.
As a child she made friends easily and her warm heart and inquisitive nature drew others to her. She was never high strung and throughout her life maintained an open and curious attitude toward others, always reaching out and welcoming.
Margaret married young and devoted the larger part of her life to raising 5 children who always knew they were loved by her. As a mother she was simply as good as it gets.
In time, in part due to life’s adversities she added to her experience by going back to college and became a professional occupational therapist. It took years of hard work, sometimes holding 2 jobs, while still raising children as a single parent. During this time she also cared for her mother and maintained her friendships while finding ways to help anyone who crossed her path in need.
Margaret was frugal and generous at the same time. She loved having a cat or two around, loved music, often breaking into song while with her family and friends. She taught exercise classes in her neighborhood and cared about her neighbors. She created art, and loved plants and gardening, animals and birds and was always filled with wonder and awe at nature and the universe. She loved road trips with family, time at the cabin at Butternut Lake. She loved being by water collecting rocks and seashells and often talked to people she did not know, starting the conversation with a compliment.
She loved to laugh.
She was crafty and handy and could sew with amazing proficiency. Her baking skills were finely honed and brought joy to every holiday, birthday and gathering.
Margaret’s life shows us what can be achieved by doing, trying, caring, and continuing to look for the good in everyone and every situation. Though she hoped to remain independent in her last years, and tried her hardest, she did accept that she needed help due to her Alzheimer’s diagnosis. She persevered through the last health challenged years of her life, as all her life, with grace.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Marie Ivers (Sarych), brother Donald (Sonny) sister Beverly (Bernie) and her son Lyndon (Laurie, Mary) and daughter Lisa (Dan). She is survived by her children, Dan (Bettina), Darrin (Darla), Maria (Pete), grandchildren, Justine (Chris), Kyle (Shonna), Nathan, Tamara (Steve), Aaron (Andrea), Daniel, Roseanne, Annemarie (Ben), Micah (Victoria), 14 great grandchildren, her brother John (Gloria), nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friend Joyce (Jim).
The valley of sorrow felt by her loss is overshadowed by the mountain of Love she gave.
