Obituary of Heidi Lee Knutsen

Heidi Lee Knutsen, 62, of Duluth, Minn. was called home to her Savior and Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016. She was born Dec. 15, 1953 in St. Paul, Minn. to Fritz and Doris (Graslee) Grewing. Heidi graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 1971, and went on to attend the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Heidi married Jeffrey Owen Knutsen of Duluth on June 29, 1974, and they would have four sons. She graduated from UMD in 2007, and was near completion of a master's degree in education. Heidi was a devoted wife and adoring mother, and as a member of First Lutheran Church of Duluth enjoyed its fellowship community. She loved creating and sharing memories with her children, daughters-in-law, extended family around the world and friends from throughout life. Heidi was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers. Heidi is survived, loved and missed by her children Kristian (Angharad) of Madison, Wis., Erik (Maggie) of Minneapolis, Anders (Carley) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carsten of Duluth; sister Michele Brouse (Ross) and brothers John and Steven Grewing of White Bear Lake, Minn.; cousins, nieces and nephews; and friends. She is godmother to niece Cheryl Carlson, nephew Ross Brouse, Matt Kislinger and Anthony Berg. Heidi was an inspiration to those who knew her, and will be intensely missed and celebrated. VISITATION: 11 a.m. until the 12 p.m. memorial service Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 in First Lutheran Church, 1100 Superior St. in Duluth. Heidi will be laid to rest next to her husband at Park Hill Cemetery. Services entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota, 218-624-5200.
