Obituary of Marilyn M. Goodrich
Marilyn M. Goodrich died peacefully in the early morning hours of Nov. 3, 2016, at the age of 84. She was born on July 19, 1932, on the family farm outside Prescott, Wis., to Clarence and Mildred Fiedler. She attended a one-room country school house and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a B.S. in Education. On Aug. 1, 1953, she was wed to Donald J. Goodrich and remained married until Donald's death on April 8, 2007. Marilyn was a beloved first and second grade teacher in the River Falls Greenwood Elementary School until 1972 and the Wanukee, Wisconsin, Heritage Elementary School until her retirement in 1996. Preceding Marilyn in death were her parents, Clarence and Mildred; and her brother, Leland. She is survived by her sisters, Charlotte, Phyllis, and Barbara; and her children, Diane, David, and Benjamin; and grandchildren, Claire and Bohdan. Marilyn was a long-time member of the Middleton Community Church and an avid gardener. She was a great mother and teacher, and inspired countless children to read, write, and love learning. She will be remembered lovingly by her family and friends. The family asks that in lieu of any memorials that you support your public schools. Marilyn will be interred in Prescott, Wis., at Pine Glen Cemetery. Memorial services will be conducted in Spring of 2017.
