Obituary of Shirley Darlene Saari

Shirley Darlene Saari, of Superior, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Nov. 4, 2016 in Duluth. Shirley was born in Palisade, Minn., to Adrian and Mildred Wiggins on June 1, 1940. She married Arvo Saari, April 19, 1958. She worked at the Dreamland Supper Club for 20 years. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1968. She served as a volunteer minister throughout her life. She served as a full-time minister for several years, one of which was spent with her husband, Arvo. She took delight in all the friends she accumulated through the years. Shirley was an exceptionally kindhearted person, who was very hospitable to all. Shirley is survived by her husband of 58 years, Arvo; a son, Rick (Linda) Saari; daughters, Roxane (Dean) Larson, Rebecca (William) Armstrong, Amy (Eric) Mackie; grandchildren, Melissa Saari, Christopher Saari, Timothy Larson; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Addie, Evan, and Lukas; sisters: Ardis, Patricia, Betty, Evelyn, and Carol. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 12:30 p.m. Nov. 12, 2016 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7815 Tower Ave, Superior. A luncheon will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth, from 2 to 4 p.m.
