Obituary of Gretchen Elizabeth Roesler

Gretchen Elizabeth Roesler of Minneapolis, beloved friend of just about everyone who knew her, died of complications from kidney disease on February 20, 2023. She lived her 70 years with faith, love, laughter and joy.

Gretchen was born November 21, 1952 to Dick and June Podolske in Rochester Minnesota. She had a varied career: sales executive for Northwestern Bell; ten years in restaurant management; office manager at IBM, Medtronic and Robbinsdale Parkway UCC. She was involved in community theater around the Twin Cities. Friend of Bill W. since February 28, 1994. She was a part of several church communities over the years: Spirit of the Lakes United Church of Christ (including service on the Council and as co-moderator), Living Table UCC, St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, and Lynnhurst UCC.

Gretchen was preceded in death by her life partners Cindy Tyler (1999) and Deb Rasmussen (2015). She is survived by her brother, Jim Podolske of Chelmsford, MA; stepson Kevin Rasmussen; her church family; the Iverson clan; Deb Randall-Anderson; Connie Lundquist and family; her four-legged pal Casey; and friends too many to name. May we always remember her laughter.

A memorial service will be held at Lynnhurst Congregational United Church of Christ in Minneapolis on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lynnhurst UCC.
