Obituary of Royal Delmar Smith
Royal D. Smith, age 72, passed away on February 15, 2023 at Methodist Memorial Hospital in St Louis Park, from natural causes.
Royal was proceeded in death by his parents and brother, William D. Smith and Ledwena (Rynor) Smith and also Ryan D Smith. He is survived by his loving wife Marcialee S. Smith and his three sons Aaron W. Smith, Andrew W. Smith (and wife Katie Smith), and Anthony W. Smith. Survived also by his much-loved grandson Harrison Royal Smith. Along with his brother Ronald Smith (and wife Eva) and sister-in-law Debby Wood. Other nephews and nieces are people he called family.
Roy Smith was born in Waterloo, IA June 1st 1951 to hardworking and loving parents. He attended and graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1969. After high school he got an AA degree from Waterloo’s Technical College. He moved to Lubbock, TX in 1973 to start a job with Texas Instruments. Quickly rising thru the ranks with his skills and mind. He met the love of his life, Marcialee in his apartment building just off Texas Tech University campus, married and loved her for 47 years. Through Texas Instruments Royal went on to get his B.S. in Business at Wayland Baptist College. In 1987 he became Regional Branch Manager at Texas Instruments moving his family to Burnsville MN where they raised their three sons.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 3rd at Eden Baptist Church, 1313 Hwy 13, Burnsville, MN 55337 at 11am. There will be visitation at 10:00am. Following will be a lunch in his honor.
