I would like to express my condolences to the Wojtkiewicz family. I knew Kathie since the mid 1980s, when she joined Bob Reiden Bach on his journeys to Europe, they visited me in Düsseldorf twice and we went to Lake Garda/Italy together, in the summer of 1989. After that I met her several times in Chicago when I lived in Indiana for some time. She was a very nice person, I feel with you in these hard times of parting forever. I am sure Bob has welcomed her at Heaven's Gate, with a witty remark.
Kindest regards from Bielefeld, Germany,
Herbert Gelhäut

I'm so sorry to hear of Kathie's passing. She was a wonderful mentor to me at Wayzata Public Schools. I always enjoyed talking with her and hearing her perspective on a number of topics. After she retired, I was able to visit her a couple of times at her home in St. Paul. I also called her every August to catch up a bit and let her know what was happening in the district. I will miss those calls tremendously. I am thankful for her friendship and mentorship to me.

I am so saddened by the loss of Kathy. I have known her for 45 of my 62 years on this planet. She was my sister Jill’s best friend. They were double trouble, partners in crime but they definitely were the best of friends. My story with Kathy was that I could never pronounce her last name. I assigned her a new last name to be used by me only. That last name was “Whitewitch “. She thought that was great and decided to return the favor. She began calling me “ Toddboy”. Every conversation we had started with us acknowledging each other by these name. To say I’m gonna miss her is an understatement. She was always there to talk to. Never judgmental, always sympathetic/ empathetic. Never a mean word. Because of her closeness with my sister, she was really. my Sister 2. I mean as number 2,and also . Many fond and loving memories were made. I am so terribly sad to have lost her from my life too. May God watch over you and Jill now too. Maybe he can keep you guys out of trouble, cuz I certainly couldn’t! ❤️❤️❤️ “Toddboy”.Herman

Kathie was a warm and steady force in her role as school psychologist at Wayzata Public Schools. She helped students, parents, and staff alike through the complex process of Special Education assessments. She had a warm smile and a wonderful sense of humor. The world has lost one of the good ones.
