Obituary of Rudolph William Hartleben
Rudolph William Hartleben passed away on February 3, 2023 at the Estates of St. Louis Park care facility at the age of 76 years.
He was born in Hankinson, North Dakota and graduated from Breckenridge High School, MN in 1964. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps from 1964 to 1968 and served in Vietnam as an Aviation Technician where he received several honors upon discharge including National Defense Service Medals, Good Conduct Medals, a Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation and the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Medal Color w/Palm).
After discharge, Rudy worked for Control Data and then was employed as an air reserve civilian technician full time before joining the Air Force Reserve where he served for 20 years as well as being employed by the FAA full time. He supervised inspections of Mesaba and Sun Country Airlines until his retirement in 2001.
Rudy is survived by his close friend, Joan Lund, two daughters, Jane McDonagh and her husband James and son Andrew, and Sarah Seguin and her husband John and daughter Kaylee. sisters Emmy Anderson and Mae Keller and her husband Larry; brothers Duane Milbrandt, William Hartleben and his wife Jolene, Jim Umbreit, and Terri Anderson, niece, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on Feb. 24th at 10:15 am (Assembly Area #2). A memorial service will take place in the afternoon at the Minnesota Cremation Society,
7110 France Ave S., Bloomington, MN at 2:30 pm.
