Obituary of Ronald Ray Lemcke
Ronald “Ron” Lemcke, 72, of Pequot Lakes, MN passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 31, 2023 from cancer.
A Memorial Service for Ron will be held at 11:00am on Saturday February 18, 2023, at Staples Assembly of God Church in Staples, MN. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A luncheon will be served following the service. Interment will be held at Fort Ripley at a later date.
Ron was born February 5, 1950 to George and Lena Lemcke in Vesta, MN.
Ron and Sharon were married on June 2, 1979 in Marshall, MN.
He served in the U.S. Army as an E5 Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War, and worked as a union carpenter and millwright, and a truck driver.
He was a member of Staples Assembly of God Church. He loved both his family and his ‘God given Faith Family’. Besides being active in his church, he enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors, travelling, and visiting with people.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, five brothers and a nephew.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters Kristy Lemcke, Joni Johnson and DeeDee Sandhurst; son David (Ashley) Lemcke; stepdaughters Laura (Val) Scherer, and Rhonda (Scott) Hareid; many grandchildren; brothers Gerald (June) Lemcke and Gordon (Linda) Lemcke; and several nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be sent to the family of Ronald Lemcke at Staples Assembly of God Church.
Many thanks to our friends and family including our church family at Staples Assembly of God for your support.
Ron’s family would also like to thank Coborn’s Cancer Center, St. Croix Hospice and Knute Nelson Homecare for their services.
Ron was a loving husband, father and grandpa who enjoyed time with his family in his last days. He had a strong faith and believed in eternal salvation and is now with the Father in Heaven. He would not want us to grieve for him but to celebrate his life and know that his love will always be with his family and friends.
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalms 84:10
