Obituary of Dolores Ann Holland
Dolores Holland (Himmelhaver) (94) died on January 24, 2023, in Shoreview, MN after a lengthy battle with dementia. Born the youngest of three children, she grew up and lived in Helena until moving to Minnesota to be closer to her daughter in 2014.
Dolores had many fond memories of growing up on the Himmelhaver Dairy, working at the Marlow Theater as a young adult, and working for the City of Helena. She spoke fondly of those memories, and she adored the people she worked with. She loved bowling, playing cards, camping with family and friends and walking with her dear friends at the mall. After retirement, Dolores and her husband, Ric, spent their retirement years traveling to Yuma, AZ where their days were filled with playing shuffleboard, much laughter, fun and sunshine.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Margaret Himmelhaver, her husband Henry (Ric) Holland, daughter Robin Balkema, son-in-law Richard Stine, her granddaughter’s husband, Brian Renstrom, sister Loretta Lamping, and brother Lawrence Himmelhaver. She is survived by her daughter Connie Stine of Helena, daughter Melody Holland-Rehder (Arnie) of Minneapolis, MN, Sister in-law Joann Huebsch, Grandchildren, Lindsey Johnson (Mike), Erik Rehder (Mallory), Kevin Rehder (Ara), Jennifer Balkema, Shandel Renstrom and son-in-law Robert Balkema. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren whom she admired: Drew, Elin, and Maren Johnson, Vincent and Louis Rehder, Callen Rehder, and Avery and Gavin Renstrom.
A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice and Betty and the nursing assistants at Shoreview Senior Living who cared for Dolores.
