Obituary of Craig Mitchell Perkins

Craig Mitchell Perkins, age 71, of St. Paul, passed away on January 21, 2023, from complications of Corticobasal degeneration, a rare neurodegenerative disease.

Craig was born February 24, 1951 to Lola Mae Haugtvedt and Kenneth Raymond Perkins. He grew up in Hawley, MN. 

Craig Perkins moved to the Twin Cities, where he worked as an electrical engineering technician at Sperry Rand/UNIVAC/Unisys Corporation and later at Electrosonic Inc. 

Craig’s greatest joys were his numerous projects. Buying a house in Shoreview, MN and rebuilding it from the foundation up. Designing and building amplifiers, speakers, and various other electronic and wood projects. He loved music and guitars even trying his hand at designing a guitar in his later years. 

Craig is survived by his daughter Tiffany (Dennis) Branch of Cottage Grove MN, four brothers Kent Perkins Fargo ND, Stacy (Diana) Perkins Dilworth MN, Dwight (Marlene) Perkins Alexandria MN, Kevin (Peggy) Perkins Grand Island NE, sister Julie Sharff Fargo ND, two granddaughters Hannah Drew Branch and Delaney Grace Perkins, four nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lola and Kenneth, his daughter Daneale Margaret, his niece Amanda Lea and nephews Joshua Blue and Whitley James.

Interment in the spring, Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN.
