Obituary of David Erwin Bonniwell

David Erwin BONNIWELL Inver Grove Heights, MN

November 7, 1944-December 25, 2022.

Dave Bonniwell’s 78 year journey on this earth has drawn to a close. And it was quite a trip. Starting in the Frogtown district of St. Paul, Dave’s trek wound through St. Agnes High School, the U.S. Army, MSP Airport Police, Ramsey County Sheriffs, DART, and an active retirement. A faithful traveler, Dave led his life with extraordinary kindness, courage, generosity, celebration, and integrity. Dave loved playing sports, from schooldays where he was a star athlete through retirement playing in his beloved senior softball league. Family and friends were the truly important thing to Dave and he loved a good party, cruise, or trip for the joy of community.

Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara, father Erwin, brother Jack, and granddaughter Lexi. He leaves behind his cherished wife Cathy, his sister Kathy Werner (Rich), brother Dennis (Debbie), sons Dan and Chris, daughter Michele, daughter-in-law Paula (Chapdelaine), granddaughters Sylvia, Natalie, and Maddie, and great-grandson David along with many adored nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

All family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 27th at 1:00-5:00 PM at the American Legion Post 39, 2678 7th Ave. East, North St. Paul for food, drink, and a festive remembrance of our beloved Dave.
