Obituary of Donald Eugene Johnson
Johnson, Donald Eugene "The Real Don Johnson" Age 86 passed away on 8/13/22 in Hastings, MN. Born 1/25/36 in St. Paul, long-time resident of Apple Valley. Don was sadly separated from his loving wife of 65 years in 2019 when declining health moved them to separate facilities. Don was a member of the Johnson High School class of 1954. Don is survived by wife, Mary; twin daughters, Patricia Johnson and Pamela (Dan) Reinardy of Hastings; grandchildren, Tiffany (Ray) Oblander and Marty "Dude" Ranweiler (Jody); great granddaughters, Marlee and Mairee; brother-in-law, John (Barb) Arndt; nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers and his father of whom he spoke fondly, who died during WWII when he was a child. Don was a tool and die maker by trade and years later went on to selling machine tools. His friendly and out-going personality made him a natural born salesman! Don & Mary enjoyed meeting with friends for lunch and also with the "club gang" for many years. He also had a love of aircraft, fishing and amateur radio. Don was a member of the AV Lions Club for over 25 years. Holding office of secretary and president and at one point both at the same time. He was very proud of the groups accomplishments and valued the friendships he made. After retirement, he & Mary did some traveling before Mary's MS led him to become her full time caregiver. And caring he was, never complaining once in taking care of the love of his life. Private interment at Fort Snelling at a future date.
