Obituary of Anna M. Rader

Anna "Annie" Rader, age 95, Bismarck, ND, and formerly of Devils Lake, died Nov 23, 2022, in Lakeville, MN. A family celebration of life and burial will be held in the spring 2023. Anna Rader (Heisler) was born on May 23,1927 in Pearce County, ND, daughter of Pius and Dorothy Heisler.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Rader, June 4, 1945. They established their home on the family farm in Starkweather. They retired in 1990 and moved to Devils Lake. Annie was a member of Mary Catholic Church, Starkweather and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. In 2019, Annie sold her home in Devils Lake and moved to Bismarck to live with her son Robert. She traveled many years between Bismarck and Lakeville, MN where she also spent time with her daughter Bernice. Annie was an avid bingo player and loved to bake. Everyone enjoyed her Homemade Buns and Caramel Rolls. During her farming years, she was the main “Combine” driver during harvest season.

Annie is survived by her children, Bernice Overby, Lakeville, MN, Robert (Ginny) Rader, Bismarck and Charlotte (Curtis) Halvorson, Mylo, ND; 6 grandchildren – Brenda Stafford, Eric Overby, Toni Austinson, Kelli Larsen, Brandie Otto & Josh Rader; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford (2001); son, James Rader (2015); daughter- in-law Sandra Rader (2019); son-in-law Larry Overby (2020); 5 siblings and grandson-in-law, Danny Stafford.
