Obituary of Claire Louise Bastien
Claire Louise Bastien, aged 69, died peacefully on September 23 after a short battle with cancer.
Claire was preceded in death by father Charles (Dick) Bastien. She is survived by her mother, Lorraine Bastien of Woodbury, MN, siblings Anne Petersen (Curt) of Bozeman MT, Patrice Mueller (Craig) of Dellwood MN, Monica Bastien of Sacramento, CA, and Chuck Bastien of Hudson, WI, and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and a group of loving and supportive friends and family.
Claire lived the life of a searcher, interested in many things and absorbed by a variety of topics that drove her career choices. After earning a degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota, Claire traveled the world with the Billy Graham Presents tour as a wardrobe and makeup artist, invested in several entrepreneurial ventures, ran a relocation consultancy in the Twin Cities, and very much enjoyed her last career as a realtor for Buyers Real Estate Group, helping people find their dream home. She was beloved by her clients, and she was recognized as a Super Realtor in 2015-2021 by Minneapolis/St Paul Business magazine.
Claire was a most generous person who constantly thought of others; she would give the shirt off her back to those in need. Her hobby of quilting resulted in dozens of gifts that she bestowed on family and friends. Claire was a loving and supportive daughter, sister, aunt and friend, and her passing leaves a hole in many lives.
A celebration of her life will be held on December 6, 2022 at Dellwood Country Club, 29 East Highway 96, Dellwood, MN 55110, from 5-7 p.m. Claire was an animal lover, and a gift in her honor may be made to the Twin Cities Humane Society or Heifer International.
