Obituary of Julie Ann Hoyum

Julie Hoyum (Newsum) age 55 of Cloquet, MN passed away in her home with her family by her side, after a 2 1/2 year battle with stage 4 Colon Cancer. On November 1st, 2022.

Julie was born November 7th, 1966 in Cloquet, MN the daughter of Julius and Edith Newsum.

Julie grew up in Esko, MN and Graduated from Cloquet Senior High in 1985. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Julie had a contagious smile and laugh. She had a deep love for her family, daughters, and grandchildren. She loved Christmas time and collecting snowmen. She believed it was her “addiction”. Julie also enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas, Nevada people watching, playing her Buffalo slots and being in the front row watching her favorite band and friends “TMB.”

Julie spent most of her life as a caregiver. She was best known for her generosity and willingness to help anyone.

Julie was preceded in death by her Father Julius Newsum, sister Debbie Christian and sister Jan Newsum. amongst other close family.

She is Survived in death by her Mother Edith (George) Bradley, Soulmate Timothy Paitrick, Daughters Stacy (Brandon) Carlson, Sara (Ron) LaDean Grandchildren: Hailey, Colton, Aubrey, Tyler, Keegan and Kory.

Sisters Carol Rubesh, Sandy Olsen, Colleen (Stacy) Paulson. Brothers: Kenny (Shari) Newsum, Lauren (Wendy) Newsum. Along with several nieces and nephews. Also by several she “adopted” as he children and grandchildren whom she loved very much.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday December 4th, 2022 at The Scanlon Community Center 2801 Dewey Avenue Cloquet, MN 55720 at 1PM.
