Obituary of Deanna Gladys Gonsior
Deanna (Midge) Gladys Gonsior, Age 85 passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Midge was born July 23, 1937 and grew up in Long Prairie. She later married Tony Gonsior on December 30, 1961. They relocated to Minneapolis where they joined Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. Midge was always very active in the church working as the Nursery Director and thoroughly enjoyed watching generations of children pass by her on nursery days. She also spent timeless hours working in the kitchen preparing food for Lenten services, homebound meals, funerals, auxiliary events, stewardship dinners and much more. Midge was a member of the Mount Olivet Home Auxiliary and volunteered at the Mt. Olivet Careview Home gift shop where she would frequently purchase her beloved beanie babies.
Midge was a spitfire with a heart of gold who always found time to watch and partake in her “babies” activities whether it was football, baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming or musical performances - Nanny was always there.
She had a deep love for her family, and will be greatly missed by: children Mike (Molly), Dan (Lynne), Paul (Hillary). Grandchildren Lindsey (Emily) Gonsior, Paige (Michael) Gonzales, Madeline (Tim) Nelson, Tony Gonsior, Tommy, Joey, & Claire Gonsior, Taylor, Erin & Hannah McCormick. Great Grandchildren Graham, Abe and Lyle Gonzales and Maxwell Nelson. Sister Sandy Doege and Sister In-law Kay Farris along with many other family members.
She was greeted in heaven by her husband Tony Gonsior, mother Gladys Wallund, and brothers, Mick and Don Farris.
The memorial service will be held Monday, November 14th at 11:00am at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church 5025 Knox Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN 55419 with a luncheon and private interment following. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
