Obituary of Gary Darrel Manty

Gary Darrel Manty, 75, of Coon Rapids, MN passed away October 17, 2022 at home in the care of his family. Gary grew up in Kettle River, MN and was a long time resident of Moose Lake, MN. Gary was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer in May of 2021 and had battled it since.

Gary was a caring husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Gary was a veteran of the Vietnam War and earned a Bronze Star during his service. Gary had a long career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons with postings throughout the country. Gary deeply loved his family and spending time with his wife, children, son-in-law, grandchildren, and friends. He will be deeply missed and so welcomed in heaven.

Preceded in death by his parents (John & Julia), step-father (Hugo), and siblings (Norman, Leo, Vern, Donna, and Pauline.)

Survived by his wife Betty of 54 years, son Zachary, daughter Tiffany (Tim Johnson), grandchildren Payton, Tate, and Lane Johnson, siblings Reuben (Kaye), Bruce (Bev), Jean, Janet, Karen, Brian (Hyon), several nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and special friends Jon and Kathy Brown.
