Obituary of Joan Halmstad MacDonald

MacDonald, Joan H.

Passed away on October 12, 2022, at age 87 in Bloomington, MN.

She grew up in Wauwatosa, WI and graduated from Beloit College, Pi Beta Phi, where she made lifelong friends. At the age of 50, she went back to school to get her Master of Social Work and worked with children throughout her career. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and bridge club. She was a longtime member of St. David’s Episcopal Church, Minnetonka, MN.

Joan is preceded in death by parents, Marion and Carl Halmstad. She is survived by her children, Mike MacDonald (Ruth), Cindy Castle (Jim), Stuart MacDonald (Kelly Gallagher); six grandchildren; and brother, John Halmstad (Kathy). No services will be held.
