Obituary of Lynne Redelsheimer
Lynne Louise Schoeneberger Redelsheimer
November 11, 1941 – September 22, 2022
Lynne Redelsheimer, age 80 of Golden Valley, MN, has passed away after living a full and blessed life. She leaves behind her sister Mary Johnson (Greg) and three sons, John (Courtney) of Advance, NC, Karl N. (Kimberly) of Salado, TX, and James (Jennifer) of Plymouth, MN.
She was born in Chicago, IL where she was raised by loving parents, Carl & Alice (Krueger) Schoeneberger (both deceased). Lynne graduated high school from North Park Academy in 1959 and DePauw University with a degree in Nursing in 1964. On December 4, 1965, Lynne married the late Rev. Karl F. Redelsheimer and was a faithful pastor’s wife involved in parish life for over 40 years. Lynne and Karl raised their family in Belvidere, IL.
Lynne was proud of her three boys and built a home life filled with love and laughter. While in Belvidere, she volunteered with the Boone County Health Department and enjoyed tending her garden, canning, and preserving its produce. She was an excellent cook and never had a meal at which she didn’t provide feedback on flavor or quality! With her curious mind, Lynne was always interested in expanding her knowledge on many different topics, and each day she looked forward to reading the Wall Street Journal and local newspapers. She set an example for her children when she devotedly cared for her aging parents for many years. Her greatest joy was cheering for her boys and, later, for her eleven grandchildren (Matthew, Victoria, Kyle, Carly, Grant, Samuel, John Jr., Abigail, Micah, Anna, and Peter) in athletics and extracurricular school activities. In recent years, she continued as her grandchildren’s super fan by tuning into their games and events via YouTube.
Lynne and Karl traveled the world after Karl’s retirement, and she continued traveling after he died. She visited countless countries and always enjoyed connecting with people from other cultures. She also enjoyed several trips and cruises with extended family and visited her son Karl and his family at each of their Army Duty stations. Her happiest moments were when she was spending time with her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. She and Karl spent many summers at their family cabin on Lake Ada in Pine River, MN and loved nothing more than having a houseful of family to make lake time memories with.
She loved God, the Church, and her family, and her legacy will live on as we cherish the strong family ties she built. Her memorial service will be held on November 1st, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 15600 Old Rockford Rd., Plymouth, MN 55446.
Memorial donations can be made to Lutheran World Relief (www.lwr.org) or the ELCA Foundation (www.foundation.elca.org).
Romans 8:38-39: I am sure that nothing can separate us from God's love—not life or death, not angels or spirits, not the present or the future, and not powers above or powers below. Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord!
