Obituary of Glenn Dale Lee

Glenn “Butch” Lee, 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after battling cancer for 22 years.

Born in Manitowoc, WI to parents Albert and Clara Lee, raised in Thorp, WI until enlisting in the Army in 1965.

Married Sonia, his wife of 55 years, moved to Duluth, MN and together they raised five children.

Glenn worked as a painter and later took on the ownership of General Painting and Decorating.

A devoted Gideon for 33 years, completing missionary works in India and Argentina.

Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, and every spring his love for gardening showed in his large vegetable harvest every Fall.

Glenn is survived by his wife Sonia and his five children, Kathy (Larry)Williams, Mary Andrews, Tressa (Michael) Holte, Michele (Tim) Maki, Matthew Lee and brother Bernard Lee, sister Elaine Suda, SIL’s Pat Lee and Carol Lee. Twelve grandchildren (Jason, Aleck, Eric, Nathan, Myles, Ileigh, Aurora, Cody, Sara, Charlie, Emmett, and Mila) and 12 great grandchildren. Butch is preceded in death by his parents and brothers John Lee and Edward Lee.

The family would like to say Thank you to the Essentia Health Oncology/Infusion Dept. for making his time there, “Perfect”.

Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 21 at 11am with visitations starting at 10 am. St. Johns Free Lutheran Church, 3601 W. Arrowhead Rd, Duluth MN.
