Obituary of Gale Leonard Ziemski
Gale Leonard Ziemski passed away September 8, 2022, at home in Duluth, MN.
Gale was born on June 25, 1937, to Leonard and Jenny Ziemski in Duluth and graduated from Duluth Central in 1955. After graduating, he sailed the Great Lakes on the James. A. Farrell. He went on to be an architect, salesman selling mining trucks and equipment and owned and operated his own business, Range Arc. He was also a member of the 148th ANG and Swan Lake Country Club.
Gale married the love of his life, Susan (Potswald), on October 17, 1959. Next month would have marked their 63rd wedding anniversary. They shared a loving relationship that was certainly one to be admired. Their lake home on Swan Lake and his garden, especially his garlic, were his passion.
Gale was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Larry and Bill; and his companion, Willie. He is survived by his loving and caregiving wife, Susan; sister, Elaine; sister-in-law, Lynne; sons, Jay (Linda) of Canyon; Scott (Deanna) of St. Cloud; daughter, Jill, of Proctor; grandchildren, Shannon (Paul) Evanson, Jennifer (Brian) Bement; Cassandra & Blake; Kyle, Holly, Lauren (Jon) & Brett; five great-grandchildren; and his pal, Tucker; along with many wonderful friends.
MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Thursday, September 15 at the Cremation Society, 4100 Grand Avenue. Visitation 2:00 p.m., service 3:00 p.m. and a luncheon following at 4:00 p.m. at Mr. D’s in the private banquet room.
