The world lost a beloved mother, grandmother and friend on August 24, 2022. Mary June Schlagel, 78, lost her long-time battle with dementia. Throughout her illness, Mary was always happy in the moment and took pleasure in the simple things. Mary rejoins her husband Rodger after 24 years apart. 

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh & Bernice Huttner, and loving husband Rodger. Mary is survived by her brother, Jim; sisters, Kathy (Neal), Lynn (Skip), and Pat (John); children, Theresa (David) and Dan (Melanie); grandchildren, Chelsey, Dillon, Quinton, Henrik & Xavier; great-grandchildren, Ruka & Niko, and her nieces and nephews. 

Please join us to celebrate Mary’s life, at Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park, MN on September 17th. Memorial service at 11:30 AM, visitation one hour before and reception following the service.

Mary worked at the Early Childhood Family Education Program for over 20 years. She loved her time caring for children and supporting families. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Mounds View Public Schools Early Childhood program. Please specify "MV- Early Childhood."
