Obituary of Evelyn Marie Jorstad Fosteson

Evelyn Marie Jorstad Fosteson, age 95, passed quietly on July 19, 2022 in the company of her loving family in her Farmington, MN home.

Evelyn Jorstad was born in 1926 and was raised on the family farm near Kenyon, MN. She attended St. Olaf College, graduating with a BA in Sociology in 1948. She met her future husband, Arnold Fosteson at St. Olaf and married in 1948. Ev and Arnie lived in several upper midwestern communities over their married life, had two children and eventually spent a couple decades in Arizona before returning to Wisconsin and Minnesota. They made countless friends along the way and touched many peoples' lives. Ev loved golf and played well into her late 80's. She enjoyed watching many different sports, was an excellent cook and entertainer, read voraciously and was a formidable card player.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Selma Jorstad of Kenyon, MN and her 5 brothers, Olaf, Melvin, Donald, Robert, and Paul.

She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Arnold Fosteson, daughter Paula (Daniel) Jewell, son Grant (Ms Jerry Tefft) Fosteson, grandchildren Nicholas (Alison) Jewell, Michael (Jackie) Jewell, Elisabeth (Michael) Rosandich, several great grandchilren, many friends, and many other relatives.

A memorial service will be held for Evelyn on September 15, 2022 at 2:00pm at Farmington Litheran Church, 20600 Akin Road, Farmington, MN 55024. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm.
